CALLE EL PASO 9

Villa de San Juan de la Rambla
- Arquitectura Doméstica. Arquitectura Doméstica Urbana -

The house is located at the southern end of the historic center of the municipality, bordering one side of its plot with the Las Monjas ravine. At first glance, it can be seen that the façade is presented in its original state at the time of construction that, from the aesthetics of its façade, can be dated around 1900. However, the cadastre registers its building in 1960, at which time in which, surely, a later volume of two heights was added.

The building, of very modest dimensions and humble appearance, is constituted by a single irregular creak of a height and flat roof.

The façade, oriented to the north-northwest - following the alignment of the street - has three openings arranged symmetrically: windows on each side of the door, located in the center.

The carpentry is the original one at the time of construction of the house and is made of simple wood, with smooth frames. The door, with two leaves, is decorated with large panels, of the same smooth finish. The windows are made up of a factory railing and a central body with two folding blades, which include two sash windows with a movable leaf each, with interior quartz lids.

The roof of the house is flat and presents a factory parapet towards the facade, crowned with a stone carpet. Highlighting this level of cover there is a concave-convex cornice made of the same stone.

Due to the lack of construction of the house, the construction system has to be the traditional one of masonry walls and flat wooden beams roofs on which calyx rolls covered with a mud and lime cake were arranged as a waterproofing layer .

The same waterproofing layer of mud and lime was used to cover the exterior vertical walls.
