This old mill is located in the upper area of the urban center of Arafo, more specifically in Eduardo Curbelo Fari a street, which corresponds to part of the old road that leads to the springs of the Avingo Ravine and with the so-called 'Camino de Candelaria ', used during this holiday by the pilgrims from the north side of the island to reach the town of Mariana.

The supply of the water necessary for the operation of the mill already exists at the time it was built in 1895. These waters originally came from the arches from the galleries of Avingo. For later, in years near 1920, to be complemented with the waters coming from the gallery of Los Huecos.

This work, dated in 1895, is carried out after the purchase of the land by Antonio Marrero P rez, 'elinero viejo ', which after having achieved savings through the trade of wines and spirits with Venezuela, requests this site from the town hall, taken out at auction by the city council with the condition that only one work could be made useful for the neighborhood, at the same time that the condition for the use of water as a driving force was imposed, to keep the canalization and water in good condition What was happening for her.

Molino – Arafo-

Commonly known as a bucket water mill, it is essentially a construction composed of a water channel that pours these into a bucket or water storage tower so that it later passes through the mill's premises. Generally developed on two floors, maintaining the dependencies of the grinding on the top floor and on the ground floor the machinery that comes into contact with the water.
The storage tower is one whose structure is grounded in the back and commonly on the mother rock. Built in masonry made of basic stone and varying its dimensions in staggered prism elements. This bucket is located next to or to the main mill units, behind the milling room.
The milling units are housed in a two-storey prismatic building, with the Stole, or part destined to the machine to be in contact with the water, in the semi-tannin. Accessing it by descending a staircase attached to the street facade. In this space, pour the pressure bucket through the lock into a ditch or small embankment where the water flows, being connected to the upper floor by several holes made in commonly forged beams and wooden floor (currently the building n does not have the machinery and is intended for housing use).
