This square was part of the historic center of Realejo Alto, located next to the Church of Santiago Ap stol and once burials were not allowed inside it, since 1837 the cemetery associated with the Realejo Alto built with the funds of the com n of the neighbors, at the beginning of the twentieth century the new hygienic needs led to the creation of a new cemetery, that of San Agust n, this being closed in 1947, and proceeding to the movement of the remains to the new cemetery with the subsequent cleaning of this, after the union of the Realejo Alto and the Realejo Bajo, the new municipal silk was created in 1966 located in front of this square, acquiring the denomination of the union square. |

Currently, the square occupies a pre-set place as a viewpoint to the ravine of God nez, visualizing the areas of the Realejo Bajo and San Agust n, Configured as a trapezoidal esplanade, it adapts to the topography of the land thanks to the use of its low as building. It is bordered by a balustrade of concrete and rectangular pilasters crowned with a cup, inside it houses only one element of woodland. |
