CASTILLO, 70 SUÁREZ GUERRA, 6

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE
- Arquitectura Civil y Doméstica. Anterior al S.XX -

The building was built on a plot occupied by one of the many dilapidated houses that existed for a good part of the 20th century on Calle del Castillo. The municipality accordingly gave all the facilities to carry out the administrative procedures so that the project was signed in June 1905; five days later, the official communication was delivered and in July work was already underway, the building was expanded on Su rez Guerra Street in 1909. Despite its splendid modernist viewpoint, the language used is ecologic.

Corner building with three floors. The corner has the peculiarity of being curved with a vertical strip of openings: on the ground floor it is access, on the first level there is an enclosed glazed viewpoint with a curved iron railing that becomes a third level balcony. The main façade is on Castillo Street, it is symbolic and the horizontal cushioning on the ground floor that is repeated in the curved corner stands out. Two vertical pilasters with horizontal molding on the sides limit it. With three openings per floor, all aligned according to vertical axes: in the central ground floor it is an access door and lateral (modified) are double doors, and on them at half level two half-point arch windows. On the next two levels doors two-leaf windows. On the first level, a continuous flying balcony with an iron railing and on the third level, a balcony only in the center and side rails. On His war War vain arched door with fixed glazed upper part, repeated on the first level alternated with a balcony or railing at the level of the wall. Elements of Interest: Glazed iron balcony. Pray on railings. Wood carpenter. Ornamentation on the facade. Roof balustrade.
