This work was designed by the architect Pelayo L pez and Mart n Romero in 1930 for Catalina lvarez, widow of Fern ndez del Castillo. Its architectural style is framed within a predominantly ecological, although very content, even with strong expressionist nuances. Taking advantage of the economic and administrative facilities that the city council offered to end the old dilapidated houses, the promoter's son decided to take advantage of these benefits, commissioning Pelayo L. fish the project, signed in October 1930. The rest of the project, both administrative and constructive, it is a clear example of how badly the municipal technical office worked at that time. In February 1936, after multiple avatars, the work could be completed. Building composed of basement, first level and body of four floors. On the left, access door to other floors. The first level maintains equal gaps and a large balcony with a stone balustrade that covers the entire facade giving horizontality and definition to the basement. The following levels have a definitely vertical composition. The left is defined between two pilasters with vertical stripes that cover the four levels. A square window on each level. In the right country a flown body, vertical glazed lookout, develops on three levels. Elements of Interest: Carpinter a. Access door on the ground floor. Treatment of iron sills. Ornamentation on the facade. Mezzanine column and its sill. The ground floor of the building's facade has been remodeled for commercial purposes, expanding the opening. |
