Canvas of animate mood.

San Antonio de Padua

The canvas represents Saint Anthony of Padua, who saw the habit of his Franciscan Order given with a cord with three knots representing the consecration vows (obedience, purity and chastity). The lilies he holds in his right hand represent the virtue of purity, they mean the triumph over temptation.

San Antonio holds in his left hand a book on which the Ni or Jes s sits. This representation is related to the fact that it is said that the Ni or visited the Saint when he was meditating, both were seen by a man from the outside, and the Saint was seen kneeling hugging the Child, who spoke to him and Have one of your arms perched on the neck of San Antonio.

The book represents wisdom and teaching, in addition to being the Child or above him, it means that his preaching is endorsed by Christ.
