PILA DE AGUA

This water intake that gives its name to the street in which it belonged to the group that, from the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, was part of the promotion of conduits that provided public supply pillars in the towns, essential places for the public supply where the water was going to be taken daily, so the jet became a place of encounter and relationship with the neighbors while waiting for the filling of barrels, cans or cantaros they carried on the ring, pad or yoke with hook to make the transport of this water more bearable. At the same time we can highlight the saint made of wood on it as an element of exaltation of the cross linked to the feasts of May 3, while being part of the tradition that gave rise to the Franciscan friars of the Convent of St. Lucia whose foundation at the beginning of the seventeenth century led to those friars placing crosses in different places away from the population centers establishing their own V a Crucis.
