The laundries constitute a space related to the supply of water for public use in the population center of Tigaiga. Its origin dates back to 1701, XVIII century, when the Justice of the Island is winged as laundry, which means that this place has considerable importance at that time. They were created from the ditch that led to water from the springs to the primitive settlement of neighbors in the area. In the mid-twentieth century they lost their main use when the supply of running water was implanted in the Canary Islands and the majority of the families could afford to spend on a washing machine. |

It consists of a ditch where water was supplied to a tank from which it was diverted to the washing area. The washing area was provided with stone slabs where the women in charge of cleaning or washing machines rubbed their clothes. |
