On the magical night of July 23, on the eve of the feast of St. John the Baptist, the well-known bonfires take place, the name of the bonfires that burn with this traditional ritual of burning the beards of the saint. In them for several previous days, neither do you and young people strive to pick up old items and junk, pieces of wood and dry grass to mount the great pyres that will be burned in the afternoon and evening of that day. A multitude of rites are concentrated next to them, such as skipping the coals with songs and repetitive sayings, or simply turping (roasting) potatoes to eat them among the congregates. But the customs and rites of the night of San Juan do not only remain in the fire, since water plays an important role, with the adornment of batteries, jets and fountains with natural elements such as branches, vegetables or fruits and flowers. In the municipality there are good examples of this tradition, such as the Chorros de la Monta eta, La Zamora, El Moc n and Tigaiga; collect the serenade with rose petals to wash in that morning, without forgetting the customs of the papers, eggs or potatoes, in that soul of popular beliefs about love, death or destiny.
