Although it belongs to the City Council of Los Realejos since 1990, the property was built in the mid-twentieth century (between 1940 and 1950), architecturally encompassing the property within the prevailing rationalism of the time. The building was built on part of the site where the disappeared convent of San Juan Bautista was erected, a convent built by Juan de Gordejuela in 1610, a convent destroyed by a fire in 1806 and confiscated in the thirties of that century. At the beginning of the 20th century, architecture in the Canary Islands was immersed in different languages with multiple decorative and formal influences with academic, historicist and regionalist compositions. The avant-garde of the beginning of this century resulted in the creation of a new language. Rationalism, which lacks superfluous ornamentation with pure lines and a tendency to abstraction of forms and volumes, is incorporated into the new architectural models, starting from the new facade compositions until reaching the spatial conception of the new buildings.

The property is erected within a rectangular plot, possessing in itself a plant in the form of 'T ' inverted and allocating the rest of the spaces of the plot to patios and garden areas. It is raised to a height of two floors by modern construction systems, propitiated by the use of reinforced concrete and cement mortar. The arrangement of the openings is neat, with constructive simplicity when it comes to covering them with standardized woodwork. The set is covered with a flat cover. Inside, it is worth mentioning its hydraulic slab pavement and the forging rail for access to the second floor.

The main facade of the property is characterized by its simple and clear lines, developed on two floors. Highlights the volume that flies over the vertical line of the facade and breaks its flatness. It is generated with this new volume and keeping the simple and compositional lines a balcony.-La Alhóndiga, 8

The arrangement of the openings is ordered following a compositional game between the horizontal lines, the dimensions of the openings and the depths of the different elements that make up the facade.-La Alhóndiga, 8

The existing access door is a ground floor composed of two folding leaves with geometric relief decoration in each of the rectangular quarters of which each leaf is composed. Superiorly there is a glazed upright that allows access to light inside.-La Alhóndiga, 8

Superiorly, on the top floor, they are located in the volume that flies glass windows. Although aesthetically they give the sensation of complexity, this property is characterized by the simplicity of its elements. As can be seen, there are three openings of identical dimensions that are covered by joining prefabricated elements that fit perfectly creating a unique compositional element. That is, each opening repeats the same structure, two windows and two uprights, each window and upright is identical to those existing in the other openings, each opening being able to be divided into two rectangular glazed folding windows and two rectangular glazed uprights, repeated the composition in the rest of the openings.-La Alhóndiga, 8
