This building is the result of the search of the inhabitants of Icod the height of an enclosure for worship, since the seventeenth century there was a sacralized enclosure of common characteristics to the rest of those present in the municipality, and must be of small dimensions covered with three waters and attached sword, but it is in 1750 when Francisca Mesa and her husband Juli n Mesa, both of San Juan de la Rambla, acted as benefactors of this building by naming chaplain and expanding the building Together with the help of the inhabitants, the hermitage of a ship was enlarged until reaching the current dimensions. From the mid-twentieth century the hermitage underwent a series of interventions thanks to new neighborhood contributions and donations sent by emigrants from Cuba and Venezuela. In 1962, the facade of the arch of the canter and upper ass with the sword on the side was removed by a tower facade designed by the architect Jos Toledo, currently showing a variation after this action that has generated a new body as a temple, that acts as a frontispiece and that houses a bell tower. |

Building of rectangular plan of a single ship with gable roof and presbytery of greater height, being on both sides of the presbytery buildings destined to events and parochial lodgings. Executed by means of the traditional system of walls of mamposter a, where the presbytery is formed by a toral arch from canter to gray, with wooden roof structures and Arabic tile cladding is dressed internally by means of simple coffered ceilings decorated with acer.
