Next to the Camino Real that originally communicated the Tigaiga neighborhood with the Monta eta, there is a splendid high-value architectural model called Hacienda. The property was, at the time of its conception, intimately linked to a wide agricultural production. Dated in the seventeenth century, the Hacienda La Coronela reaches its greatest economic and cultural splendor during the time in which Ana Machado and her husband, Francisco Machado y Ja n, inhabited high-profile characters within the city of the municipality in his time. Both were prominent benefactors in the construction of the Parish of Our Lady of Conception and the magnificent altarpiece of the Virgin of the Rosary (destroyed in the fire of 1978, there is currently an exact replica to the original). This strong religious conviction makes its owners build inside the farm one of the few oratories that are still preserved in Los Realejos.



Hacienda la Coronela

The main building rises to a height of two floors above a plant in the form of 'L '. The orientation of it is a function of prevailing winds and solar radiation. The main element that stands out on its facade, with private access, is an existing covered balcony / corridor on the second floor. As an element of connection between floors, an exterior wooden staircase is located. All the existing carpenter in the property is characterized by its sober and humble character, without great ostentations, sizes and watermarks, which denotes its rural character, simple and functional rather than aesthetic. The distribution of the openings in the facade does not have a predetermined order, but a certain logical order in line with the use of the room where it is located. The existing roofs in the building are of various typologies, from a three-water roof in the main nave where it extends its skirt over the corridor, to a four-water roof in the shorter ship. All the roofs are built according to the system based on pairs and rows externally finished with curved tiles, highlighting its polychrome mud jar decoration inside the oratory.
