The Hacienda de La Gallera is located on the street that bears his name, on the plains of Mendez, also known as Casa La Fajana, originally linked to the Hacienda de Mendez, was possibly built in the 18th century or earlier To this, erected to develop large farms, situated in an enclave surrounded by farmland. In the nineteenth century, it began to sell part of its land, presently being very divided.

That building was the main house of the Mayorazgo de Zamora, belonging to the Ascanio family after the Conquest, and the building dates back to the 16th century. Said Mayorazgo linked the House and half of the land to the firstborn and that is why in each generation it was possible for the owner to dispose of half of the property, so that the division was slow through successive generations until that with the abolition of the mayorazgos and links in the nineteenth century the division of the land accelerated. The most nascent part of the farm was divided between heirs and sold and what is now known as Finca Zamora was a part that Enrique Ascanio inherited. This time and later his daughter Mar a de Ascanio and M ndez de Lugo. This house with Domingo Salazar and C logan, and later in 1947 the house was built in which events are held today.

It is a building with a plant in line, of great length, oriented from north to south, composed of several modules, where its main body of two heights, is interrupted by a tower n, which reaches three heights Aligned to its rear façade, La Gallera street runs, leaving the main facade facing west. The roofing system is simple, resolved to one, two, three and four diamond-tipped waters, with the traditional Arabic roof tile, executed on wooden structures.

Touring the entire property, except for its rear façade, it presents a gallery runner, supported by eighteen straight feet, where the beams and dogs rest through the sleeper, the grandstand area, is composed of a flat baluster sill, while the opening appears open between the right feet on which the roof skirt rests, also in front of the tower n, it is located to the covered exterior staircase, of two sections, which gives access to the upper floor, through from the gallery that serves the superior units.

The distribution of openings in the facade is untidy, located in those places where they were functional, regardless of the aesthetic aspect, where the carpenter applied is characterized by its rural character, simple and functional rather than static.

F lix de Ascanio y Poggio was a big fan of laughing and raising cocks, as was his brother-in-law Francisco Ben tez de Lugo, Marqu s de Celada, husband of Mar a del Carmen de Ascanio y Poggio, and possibly That hobby should now be called La Gallera. Alfonso de Ascanio y Poggio, the owner of the southern part of the House, studied Engineering in Paris and Liege. After finishing his studies in 1914 he settled in Paris and there he had a house for 17 years, coming to collaborate as a volunteer engineer in the Great War. Later he was a distributor of United Artists throughout Europe, produced numerous movies and published a good number of novels. A tireless traveler, he spoke several languages fluently and during his life he was several times in New York and South America.

After the Spanish Civil War, he settled in Madrid and his life was spent in seasons between this city and the island of Tenerife.

He always had a special love for the house and estate of Zamora.
