On a ledge in the coastal cliff and dominating over the area of the Rambla de Castro, this Fort was erected whose construction dates back to the end of the 18th century due to the presence of pirates in those coastal waters that assault the boats and the insecurity of the area of the nearby Guindaste pier. There are data that in 1808 it had a embrasure composed of five canons located by Don Agust n de Bethencourt y Casto. (Currently there are only three left).

The construction takes advantage of its location on a projection of the coastal cliff where the land is immobilized by means of masonry containment walls that condition a platform of 250 visuals on which the artillery pieces are arranged, after this platform rises a construction for the shelter of a substantially rectangular plan and three mason walls to keep its north face open, its covering covered with water with Arabic tile and splinters.
