This party is of special significance to the inhabitants of Los Realejos, hence the title of the town's co-title. The story tells how at the beginning of the seventeenth century a terrible bubonic plague struck the north coast of the island and the neighbors before the calamity begged St. Vincent to stop infections among the population. A few years later they signed a document, known as the vote , where they promised to celebrate their party every January 22, a tradition that still lasts. That day, festive in the municipality, the City Council goes with the municipal office, authorities and the parish clergy to the hermitage, where the Eucharist and procession are put together.

Between 2009 and 2010, a year of special celebration took place to commemorate the four centuries of that efem ride, with various acts, but all centered on a Jubilee Year granted by the Holy See. In addition to this important celebration, the festivities extend several days with festivals of varieties, festivals and popular and popular events, such as the well-known gill that is paid to the neighbors, where the country's parents are not lacking, Stewed bananas or salted fish.
