On the slopes of Tigaiga, on the access road to Icod el Alto there is the viewpoint of El Lance, from there you can see spectacular views of the three municipalities that make up the Valley, lands dominated by the Tahoro menceyato, from here it is place where the aboriginal legends sit the point from which in the fifteenth century Bentor the last Mencey of the Canary Islands jumped into the void or preferring death before the possibility of being taken prisoner and enslaved by the Castilian conquering forces. In 1996 the municipality pays tribute to the figure of Mencey Bentor Son of Bechomo, by commissioning this sculpture to the Canarian artist Carmen Le n Rodr guez.

Sculpture made in bronze through the technique of lost wax, placed on a pedestal covered in natural stone, it depicts Mencey Bentor in aptitude for desolation in the moments prior to the historic jump, with semi-flexed legs, tense torso and Head and arms looking at the sky.
