Building built by the family of Don Luis Renshaw in 1862, is located in the boundaries of Los Llanos de Mendez, the complex was built as a home in which a historicist architecture is developed, of which Los Realejos does not have many examples , applied by the Romantics and post-Romans who arrived in the Canary Islands throughout the 19th century. This architecture that tries to remember the castles built in medieval Europe, seeks to stand out against the application of eclecticism by the great majority of the buildings of the time. After its construction by the Renshaw family, we went to Weyler. In the 20th century, I house a museum park dedicated to the history of the Canary Islands.



El Castillo

Building destined for housing designed with historicist criteria at the end of the 19th century, drawn with a square plan with two heights, hanging on its four corners circular tower towers. The facades are resolved in an orderly manner with the opening of different openings, taking into account the configuration of these with a half point and crowning the walls with battlements.

The constructive configuration was resolved by using brick factories with a continuous exterior plaster and the use of ornamental elements as a recreation of stone elements in gaps of the doors and windows of the ground floor, while in the superior one a sgraffing is realized in the revocation for the formation of these.
