CHORRO DE AGUA DE LA MERINA

Villa de Los Realejos
- Etnografía. Chorros de Agua -

The presence of public jets for the supply of the population was one of the fundamental elements linked to the ditches that led the water from the springs to the population, specifically in this stream after passing through the realejero convents. In Los Realejos the use of water has generated a great diversity of heritage linked to water resources. Because of its historical interest and its connection with the adjacent settlement, it dates back to the early 18th century.

Chorro de Agua de la Merina

The construction corresponds to a jet that is divided into two sections. In the first section there is the central body of the jet of geometric geometric forms where a water can be found or that pours the water into a pile where the cantaros were taken from drinking water. The upper part is culminated by a small uralite deposit where water is stored until it is used by people.
