This building located in the historic center of Realejo Alto, in front of the church of Santiago Ap stol and the Plaza de la Uni n, was erected during the twentieth century to house the municipality's town hall, the building designed by architect Ram n Cerv a shows in its composition the reminiscences of a late neo-Canarian architecture. After the construction of the new municipal units, it became occupied by the Viera and Calvijo municipal public library, jointly forming the current UNED headquarters in Los Realejos. |

Building of substantially rectangular plan, on which different volumes of between two and four heights with flat roof are articulated. The main Fachada o frontispicio de una fábrica o de otra cosa. Tambien se denomina Frontis al paramento verticalñ por encima de un arco ' id='41' onmousemove='mIm(event,41);' onMouseOut='oIm(41);' style='display:inline;cursor:hand;text-align:justify'>frontis shows elements of traditional architecture reinterpreted, showing its neocanarian language. The layout of its facade of marked horizontal tendency, shows a central symmetry, establishing as a main compositional element the central module, consisting of a triple arch main piece that configures the entrance on the ground floor, on it a wooden balcony On the upper floor, this piece is crowned with a lobular front of concrete molding where the shield of Los Realejos is shown in the middle part of it. The ground floor arranged on a platform that is climbed by a staircase gives the building institutional lending. |
