In 1900 the springs accounted for almost one hundred percent of the available flows. Those springs, however, have been disappearing in recent years. The galleries and to a lesser extent the wells have been the cause of the shortening of the flows. Only springs remain in those places less punished by the galleries. Prior to the drilling of the galleries there were about 600 springs on the island, which lit about 700 l / sec. The galleries have generated considerable wealth for the municipality of Arafo, so the history of the galleries is an important reference for the municipality. The most important places in this visit are, apart from the importance of knowing the ancient roads used by our predecessors, the galleries of Amance and El Drago, since they were part of the most abundant of the municipality in the 40s, together to that of Los Huecos and others less abundant, than not important. In the following years, the supply of drinking water for the people was of these types, as was the use for irrigation and public sources.
