This building located in the surroundings of the current Plaza de San Juan Degollado, whose initial settlement is historically due to the displacement of the population of Arafo after the eruption in 1705 of the Arenas volcano to this area, where it was located the primitive hermitage dedicated to San Juan Bautista Degollado, which was erected between 1672 and 1690, to later be declared as a parish at the end of the 17th century and be the beginning of the civil segregation of Candelaria. Grouping in this current environment the largest civil buildings in the municipality.
In this house it was built at the beginning of the 20th century, lived D. Florent n Castro D az (1865-1968), was born in La Measure (G imar), married and settled in Arafo, where he stood out as a grower-exporter and occupied the position of first deputy mayor during the Republic, by virtue of which he acts on several occasions as accidental mayor, being subsequently appointed as a member of the municipal Management Commission and alternate attorney general.

Housing with L-floor that hides a landscaped courtyard inside. The main front has two heights with a symmetrical arrangement with a balcony in the center of the facade, giving greater importance to the whole.
The facade can be divided into three modules, where two side modules of the main front stand out with decorative pilasters. The Fachada o frontispicio de una fábrica o de otra cosa.

It has a large door for vehicle access, and two smaller ones on the lower floor, all of them with two swinging leaves, as well as two windows with swinging leaves. On the upper floor there are four windows and a door, which gives access to the balcony.
The carpenter is made up of rectangular and square frames with relief decoration.
The cornices mark the separation between the first, the second and the flat roof covering the entire assembly.
