CALLE EDUARDO CURBELO FARIÑA Nº 4

Villa de Arafo
- Arquitectura Civil y Doméstica. Arquitectura Doméstica Urbana -

This building probably erected during the 19th century, is located in the historic Eduardo Curbelo Fari street that connected the old Plazuela del Llano, a place of reference for the spider economy, with the old gofio mill and the public washrooms, whose origins in its layout correspond to the ancient aboriginal transhumance path that joins the summit and the coast of the G Mar Valley, and that continuing along La Morra del Tanque, El Pinalete and Las Arenas, joins Arafo, with La Orotava , through La Crucita and Aguamansa.

Housing built on a single floor with a U-plan, leaving inside a small or central courtyard. As with additives, new rooms appear on the back of the property.
The main façade, facing south, is trapezoidal, adapting to the orography of the land itself.
It has four openings placed towards the larger end of the façade, giving it an asymmetrical appearance, although the upper levels of all existing gaps are maintained.
The carpenter has been replaced although the original sizes of the openings have been maintained, which gives us an idea of these.
The walls have been made with whistles by spinning, being topped with lime mortars.
The roof is topped with a parapet of similar characteristics to the walls, and protected by a lime mortar sill, placed on its facade.
The house is crowned with a flat roof, in its entirety, except in the later constructions in which sloping roofs appear.
