We are facing a piece of high heritage value, located in Icod el Alto, known as Molino de Gofio del Carmen. It is a mill located in a newly built building of the nineties of the last century. Its mission was the elaboration of artisan gofio of wheat, millet, of mixture, cereals and barley. The beginnings of this industry are in 1948 thanks to the initiative of Antonio Melo who arranged a gofio mill driven by a Lister Blackstone engine at the entrance of Icod el Alto. Ten years later he transferred it to Pedro Rodr Guez and later to Juan Dominguez y Dominguez, who changed the headquarters of the mill industry to Lomo Mquez. Later, in 1984, his son Arcadio took the reins of the company, who decided to settle on the road to Icod el Alto, in a new invoice building in 1997. Currently, it is one of the two mills in operation that exists in Los Realejos and is in a good state of preservation.
