It was customary in Teguise to celebrate during the Holy Week a process in which fourteen stops were made in front of each of the timbers that make up the Via Crucis; Number of pieces corresponding to the fourteen Christian stations. To this end, the neighborhood decorated its houses since the Modern Age with wooden crosses, although it was also the case that they were executed in carved stone. Over time, some of these crosses were detererior ndose, even disappearing. But in the second half of the twentieth century the missing ones were replaced and in the year 2001 the custom of decorating them arrived after their holiday arrived in May: the Day of the Cross. As an unusual case, there is documentary evidence that in 1909 the emigrant Francisco Delgado donated a cross to La Villa, the only one that presents an inscription that attests to it.
