The Cultural Space El Tanque, El Tanque 69, is a huge bid that served for many years for the refining and storage of crude, integrated in the CEPSA Refiner that was built in Tenerife around 1930. It retains its original exterior and interior appearance, having adapted to its new cultural use with minimal architectural intervention by incorporating materials from scrapping. |

This space is formulated by a huge cylindrical piece 50 meters in diameter and almost 20 meters high. As a top closure, it is topped with a lowered closure, with pillars to support the roof, consisting of metal profiles joined with horizontal clips and arranged in successive circular crowns. Access to it, and some of the services are outside the large space that makes up the tank, so as not to lose its spatial notion. This access is developed through a large ramp, characterized by a brutalist style, through the use of materials such as concrete and rectilinear forms. |
