Adolfo Cabrera Pinto (1855-1926) The bust represents the former Director of the Cabrera Pinto Canary Islands Institute, between 1901 and 1925. It was inaugurated in 1926 year of the professor's death and located within the premises of the Institute in the Plaza de Guillermo Rances. Adolfo Cabrera Pinto was born in Santa Cruz de La Palma. He was a journalist and teacher. He developed his teaching in Vila, Granada, Ciudad Real and La Laguna. As a journalist, he was editor of El Popular and a contributor to many other newspapers. |

The bust made in bronze has dimensions of 73x33x37 cm and was made by the sculptor Jos Mar a Perdig n Salazar. The work is included in a large monument (370x240x240 cm), designed by the architect Pelayo L fish Mart n-Romero and opened in 1926. |
