Fernando Garcia-Ramos and Fern ndez del Castillo Born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1931, Doctor of Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna has written more than 21 poems and an anthology of ethics that have had as a framework the intangible heritage of the Canary Islands. Artist and indefatigable worker has his work scattered in public spaces, private collections in Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Paris, Berlin, Catania, Macedonia, Lima, Havana and Tokyo, as well as large-scale works in the two Canary universities . His works are in the Florida Museum, Municipal Museum of Fine Arts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and in the Universities of La Laguna and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. He is a member of the Rite of the Royal Economic Society of Friends of the Country of Tenerife and the Athenaeum of La Laguna, of the Institute of Canary Studies, of the French Alliance of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, of the General Society of Authors and of the Spanish Writers Society a. In 2005 he was distinguished with the CICOP International Awards for his outstanding work and career in the Canarian Archipelago in defense of the intangible values of the Canarian people through his art and his poetry. |
