PILA BAUTISMAL-BAPTISTERIO-IGLESIA DE LA CONCEPCIÓN

Made in white marble by malague or Salvador Alcaraz Vald s. It serves as a closing to a small or rich sculpture group of alabaster apparently of Italian origin, representing Christ and Saint John the Baptist, in clear allusion to the Baptism of Jesus. According to the inscription that prays around it was commissioned by Don Miguel D az in 1759. The stack was placed in its current location in 1760, by the Orotavense stonecutter Juan Alonso.
