The source of the Plaza del Adelantado de San Crist bal de La Laguna, installed in 1869, was acquired by Tom s de Nava-Grim n and P rez de Barradas, VII Marqu s de Villanueva del Prado for 18,797 francs, and replaced a previous one of local stonework The marble fountain was commissioned to Marseille in 1868, although possibly its origin was Italian, it is next to the fountain of the Weyler square of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, installed in 1899, one of the most significant large marble sources within of the cultural heritage of the island of Tenerife. It is installed in the Plaza del Adelantado, giving ornamental meaning to this environment, which houses the most significant buildings in La Laguna: Courts, Recova (currently demolished), Hermitage of San Miguel, Convent of Santa Catalina, City Hall, Building Telefonica, Nava Palace, Casa Anchieta and Hotel Nivaria.
