The year 2001 was accompanied, as it could not be otherwise, with the allegory to Odyssey 2001, in clear allusion to the mythical movie of Stanley Kubrik A Space Odyssey, that the great filmmaker had premiered thirty-three years behind. The commission of the poster returns at the hands of an alien artist, Redd Andersson (New York, 1969), of international recognition. Another thing was the composition that I chose, and that I got above all that politics returned to surround the posters of the Chicharrero Carnival. A human figure is presented with a totally naked torso, playing the artist on purpose with the ambiguity of the character's sexual condition. On his chest, or his nipples, his belly and his navel, a series of paintings typical of the technique of graffiti and thematically of the comic world. Actually it was a real photograph of a human body, to which I applied a computer treatment. |
