It belongs to the I International Exhibition of Street Sculpture was a cultural event that took place in Santa Cruz de Tenerife between December 1973 and January 1974. Organized by the Official College of Architects of the Canary Islands, it is one of the best exhibitions of abstract art, consisting of large-scale works and remarkable visual and aesthetic power. |

Structure of two vertical suspended panels, made of stainless steel bars that intersect each other. The first panel is positioned vertically and the horizontal bottom panel. With the movement of the spectator the optical effect produced by the illusory movement occurs. This piece makes a clear allusion to Russian constructivist constructions, where they sought an exaltation of life with art. Hence, this piece is directly linked to its spatiality and background. Eusebio Sempere was born on April 3, 1923 in Onil, Alicante. From a young age he is exposed to an artistic formation entering BBAA of San Carlos, later he obtains a scholarship that allows him to continue his formation in Paris. It is there where he develops with the collaboration of Abel Martn the technique of screen printing that he will later bring to Spain, a technique unknown then. His work has had a broad plastic development; using different techniques, such as gouache, screen printing etc. However, his most recognized work revolves around the volumes of movements based on a speculative and programmatic geometry. In addition, I look for ways to relate art to science and the rational spirit. Thanks to his entire journey, he was elected advisor to the Minister of Culture of the Generalitat Valenciana, by President Adolfo Su rez. He was researched Doctor Honoris Causa by the University of Alicante and favorite son of his hometown, Onil. |
