The White Cave Mill is located next to the Santa Mar neighborhood of del Mar, Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It is privately owned and identical to the one built in Barranco Grande. This mill, which was restored at the end of 1974, has unfortunately been abandoned, today it is in a state of deterioration within the environment of a warehouse of construction materials.

It was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 2007 although it is currently in a state of abandonment, and access to it is practically impossible.


This is the peak windmill with a trunks shaped topped by an irregular irregular cover separated from the rest by a turning mechanism based on wooden necklaces. Through this shot, the main axis that holds the blades protrudes on one side and, at its opposite end, a stick called tim n.

The inside of the mill is simply a 4-meter cylinder that is divided into three floors with an approximate height of 10 meters with access doors on the ground floor and first floor. The ground floor called cabuco was at ground level and served as storage and sometimes as a miller's bedroom. The structure is simple, circular and with thick beams on the ceiling.

The ascent to the first floor is done by a double access staircase that adapts to the truncated shape and its sun width to be approximately one meter. On this first floor there is a bank where customers were waiting for the gofio that they picked up at the mouth of the tolba or cambal. Through a wooden ladder you go up to the third floor where the mill machinery was located and where the miller works.

In the third body, at the heart of the mill, the blades are moved by turning the thick beam that in turn transmits, through a simple gear mechanism, the movement to the wheels.
