The 1979 Carnival poster corresponds to Marina Braun, who did it for the first time. The poster of this edition can be considered as a certain exception, similar to what happened with the poster of 1965, signed by Juan Jos Abad, although not with the differentiating intensity that Abad had, in relationship with the dominant single. Even so, once again resorting to a character as the protagonist of the poster, in this case a female figure with a black mask, dressed in harlequin, the approach of the poster offers some aspects or resources different from the usual ones. The figure crosses the poster from bottom to top, diagonally, from the right of the poster to the left. The arrangement of the texts also presents some changes, specifically the word carnival, not only separated letter by letter, but also inserted in a kind of white windows.
