MARIBEL NAZCO (CARTEL DEL CARNAVAL DE 1994)

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE
- Bienes Muebles. Pintura -

Maribel Nazco - Mar Isabel Nazco Hern ndez - (Los Llanos de Aridane, 1938), one of the most outstanding artists of the second half of the 20th century in the Canary Islands. Maribel became known, to a large extent, through his membership in the Our Art Group to which Pedro Gonz lez, author of the 1986 cartel, also belonged. Maribel brings to the Carnival poster the figure of a dancer, in silhouette of two large spots of color, yellow and red. In the background an imposing mask, bronze, with echoes of the ancient art, dominates the scene, vigilant. Precisely in the nineties, Maribel had resumed the figuration of his beginnings, after having detailed with a stage of abstract painting in the sixties, and more with the realization of his sculptures in the seventies and eighties.
