The original work by a young Guzm n Compa Zamorano in 1907, appears in the Museum of Fine Arts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, being the one found in the Market of Our Lady of Africa donated by the firm JSP (Jos S nchez Pe ate), from the Celg n group, a replica carried out through the Bronzo smelter. The work was moved from its original location just about 15 meters in order to leave room for the work u201 Tribute to Chicharrero ', located both, in the vicinity of the main entrance to the Our Lady of Africa market.

Sculpture that belongs to the Hon. Santa Cruz City Hall.

The work is about the representation of a female figure, in natural size, specifically a milk vendor, judging by the pot of milk she carries in her left hand, and the rest that pose on her head and in a basket of wicker. Captured in a haughty, firm, straight attitude, that advances with certainty, with strong fence to judge by the position it takes in the way it seems to move and its presence.

Homenaje a La Lechera (Guzmán Compañ Zamorano)

Its author, the sculptor Guzm n Compa Zamorano, was born in Santa Cruz de Tenerife in 1881. Disciple of Rafael Atch and Jos Rebarter was trained in Barcelona, if he was granted an aid from the City Council of Santa Cruz for being an outstanding student of sculpture and modeling. n, thanks to an instance of your teachers.

It is known, by announcements in the written press ( 'La Information ' 1916) of the time, of the existence of one of its academy, of which it was also a director: Academy Te rich Practice of Drawing, Molded and Emptying subsidized by the City Council of La Laguna for the admission of worker students at no cost, and for those who were paid, at economic prices.

As a curious fact, say that it was part of the lodge of A aza, as a beggar; the first of the federation of the Grand Lodge of the Canary Islands (1923-1931), and in charge of making the sphinxes that are located in the most unique temple located on San Lucas Street in the capital of Tenerife.

He was responsible for the realization of the ten busts, of illustrious tinerfe, that decorate the facade of the Municipal Museum of Santa Cruz.

'Lechera canaria ', was exhibited and figured in the Grand Central Hall of the V International Exhibition D Art (Barcelona 1907) and is currently in the Museum of Fine Arts of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
