GUENDA HERRERA (CARTEL DEL CARNAVAL 2002)

In 2002, the alternation between artists from outside and from home became alive, the fate of the cartel falling into a young promise of Canarian art, Guenda Herrera (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). Guenda who received for his cartel the payment of 1,000,000 pesetas (6,000 euros, of the new currency, which began to circulate from January 1 of 2002), did not hide the sexual belonging of his character, a man hairy, with thick arms and a cigar in his hands. The artist plays with transformism, on the other hand, one of the most useful exercises, by men, in the chicharrero carnival, such as transforming as a woman.
