The origins of this cultural and social event are somewhat confusing, because there is no known exact date for their first celebration in the park. In short, the celebration of Book Day is an event that has lasted in the Spanish population for almost a century, forming part of the cultural tradition. As for the celebration of the book fair in the Garc Park in Sanabria, although it is not possible to secure and know an exact date, an approximate date can be obtained, since since the 30s book fairs were organized in the Plaza de la Candelaria and Plaza de Espa a, apparently the first one held in the park in 1988.
