El Devorador de pájaros (Christian Silvain)

Work that develops in two dimensions, of great simplicity apparently, being performed in a very schematic way. Apparently, through it he tries to develop complicated emotional mechanisms of the personality of the human being, related to the interest that the artist has in particular with child psychiatry and psychology.

El Devorador de pájaros (Christian Silvain)

Christian Silvain was born in Eupen (Belgium), in 1950. At the age of fourteen he became an apprentice to an ornamental painter. In 1967, he moved to Brussels where he studied painting, in addition to working in theaters and composing poems and songs. In 1970 he received very good reviews for his first works in etching, which encouraged him to devote himself entirely to the world of painting. After two years and until 1979 he moved to Paris, developing his surreal period, greatly influenced by Dal's work. From then on, he breaks with the above, making a social critique through his facades 'hiper-realists ', where he chooses old walls through which he makes a social critique until the beginning of the 1980s. Throughout the years he has developed a figurative abstract style.
