The area known as old Santa Cruz is configured as a grossly quadrangular space, well delimited by physical and urban landmarks: to the north, Castle Street and Plaza de la Candelaria; to the south, the Barranco de Santos (with an index on the opposite side, represented by the former Civil Hospital); to the west, the street of the North (today Valent n Sanz); and to the east, Bravo Murillo Avenue and Candelaria Street. Its plot shows a certain tendency towards regularity and orthogonality, especially in the most modern sector (in relative terms), such as between Imeldo Ser s street (former Barranco del Aceite) and Castillo street , whose vs retain the original layout and width. In the surroundings of the Church of Concepcion and its square the plot is somewhat more irregular, as well as along the axes of the streets of Santo Domingo, Dom nguez Alfonso and its cross-sections, showing sprains and oblique paths. To the north of the street Imeldo Ser s, the typologies characterized by their large volume, of 2 oms heights and great breadth in plan, predominate with languages from the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries (eclecticism, some rationalists), along with other bills Classicist from earlier stages and even with notable examples of traditional architecture.
