The Camino Portugal is an old rural road that belongs to the so-called Camino de las Vueltas, which communicates the different houses in the area and was created by the old sugar producers who arrived from Madeira in the 16th century to take the sugar from Taganana to the lagoon. These sugar companies were established in the Portugal neighborhood of Taganana.

The Camino Portugal, is then one of the sections that crosses the house or the same name. At the beginning of the 21st century, a rehabilitation of the same was carried out with a new paving of the road, which was originally a 'encabullado ' of beach silences, with staggered sections in which major ridges were used. After its resurfacing, at the end of the 90s of the twentieth century, stones were used and three master lines dispensed with the steps, offering a good integration and magnificent appearance perfectly adapting in its corners and chamfers.
