New alternation in the author of the carnival posters, in 1997, this time with a turn for a national geographical artist, Carlos Berlanga -Carlos Jes s Garc to Berlanga Manrique- (Madrid, 1959-2002). One of the most prominent musical figures of the Movida Madrile in the 1980s, Luxe, Alaska and the Pegamoides and Alaska and Dinarama, Berlanga also had another artistic side as a painter and designer, author of posters and comic strips. Its design supposes a change, without a doubt, to the figurative representations, which had practically dominated all the last editions. Berlanga makes a compositional game with the mask, repeated three times, from the bottom up, in yellow, red and blue, taking advantage to freely distribute the obligatory texts alluding to the parties, and a light sticker, in the same center of the poster, with the Cines word (Carlos was the son of the prominent Spanish filmmaker Luis Garc in Berlanga).
