ALEJANDRO TOSCO (CARTEL DEL CARNAVAL 2015)

Once again, in order to maintain what we may already consider a custom, the 2015 poster appears wrapped in politics. The author, Alejandro Tosco (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, 1975), made a leo on canvas, titled Carnival Coral , for an edition of the Carnival that bears the motto The future . From there, and from the same presentation of the cartel, the policy ran like wildfire, fed by social and individual platforms, through the Internet. And this ends up having, even, double reading, as can be extracted from the declarations of the mayor of the city at that time, I have been told by people who know about this that it is good to generate politics because it helps to spread (On D, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, October 4, 2011) . With Alejandro the situation of some plastic arts is re-produced, when they are commissioned with the carnival poster, which we have already quoted. This time too, the artist uses one of his pictorial compositions and makes an adaptation for the order received. Alejandro, after receiving the commission, advances and asks for confidence to perform a free interpretation of a party he knows and has lived, as a chicharrero, since his childhood. The reason, of the 2015 edition of the carnival was The future, something of course that still is to know how to be and therefore very freely to interpret.
