To guarantee or increase the Christianity of Nas ilhas, a Portuguese coroa promoted the construction of religious buildings such as capelas and igrejas na ilha de Santiago from the fifteenth century, being first built in Ribeira Grande de Santiago. A igreja tem simple retangular plant with a ship. In the eastern part of the building, small ships are annexed, forming a cross. Ao leste and not the center of the ship appears a sineira tower. H uma compartmentaliza or through pilasters and listras horizontais that overcame. On both sides of the port oh duas high janelas, coroded by triangular elements and not above the upper part of the façade h tr s high janelas with lint is in the arch. In the interior of Igreja there is an altar-mor, choir, pilasters, batister and sacristy. |
